I create relief paintings with acrylic paint, plaster, and joint compound on sheetrock. Using washy layers of paint and three-dimensional elements like plaster embossings and casts of my own body, the work often includes ritualistic elements, such as functional incense and candle holders. The resulting artwork reflects my interior emotional and intellectual experiences, depicting the process of turning an often overwhelming and tumultuous world into a meditative, meaningful one.
