GROW is a piece about emotional confusion. The language is sourced from self-help books and re-mixes their rhetoric around the topic of personal growth to form a melodic improvisational poem. The poem is set to time-lapsed images of flowers blooming.
A poetic piece that takes rhetoric around the idea of revolution as its inspiration, especially of a personal, spiritual or emotional sort. The audio plays over images of planets revolving, stars collapsing, and general space phenomena.
Inspired by the Instagram account RenoirSucksAtPainting in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election.
This piece takes as its starting point a group of books, primarily American memoirs published in the last century. I then changed the titles slightly to create a poem. The imagery is the photoshopped book covers of the literature referenced.
Hands lifted up in spiritual services to the sound of a narrated story.
This piece grapples with the concept of truth and freedom of the press in a "post-truth" world of "fake" news. I used imagery from 20th century printing press factories and overlaid that with a fractured poem using terminology from Soviet-era.
